Before LS Recommend can perform calculations, the items and POS terminals need to be uploaded to the cloud to be considered. The setup determines the transactional sales history of which items and from which POS terminals will be considered for recommendation calculations.

In the LS Recommend POS Terminals page you can view and maintain the list of terminals to be included in the LS Recommend calculation. In this page, you can easily identify the valid LS Recommend POS terminals in LS Central and synchronize these terminals to LS Recommend.

Besides that, you can also use the comparison functionality provided in the page to have an overview of the POS terminals that are maintained in LS Recommend, and compare these terminals with the list of terminals maintained locally in LS Central.

To set up a POS terminal for LS Recommend

A POS terminal can be added directly or indirectly via a store to an existing LS Recommend Batch. When a batch is assigned to a store, all POS terminals that belong to this store will inherit this setting and therefore become part of the batch. The store's setting can be overwritten by the POS terminal's setting. The batch assigned to the POS terminal takes the highest priority.

On the Store Card, you can assign the default batch and a recommendation API URL for the selected store.

  1. Click the icon, enter Store List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click New to create a new store, or click Manage - Edit to edit an existing one.
  3. Fill in the LS Recommend Batch No. field in the LS Recommend FastTab.
  4. Fill in the Recommendation API URL field in the LS Recommend FastTab if you would like to overwrite the company's global setting in LS Recommend Setup.
For more information on Recommendation API URL setup see Basic LS Recommend Setup.

Alternatively, you can also configure the POS terminal to enable it as a valid LS Recommend POS terminal.

  1. Click the icon, enter POS Terminal List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click New to create a new POS terminal, or click Manage - Edit to edit an existing one.
  3. Fill in the LS Recommend Batch No. field in the LS Recommend FastTab if you would like to overwrite the store's setting.
  4. In the LS Recommend FastTab, ensure that the Exclude from LS Recommend check box is not selected. This check box is useful when you have a batch assigned to the store and you would like a POS terminal from the store to be excluded from LS Recommend calculation.

To upload and synchronize LS Recommend POS terminals to LS Recommend

  1. Click the icon, enter LS Recommend POS Terminals, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click Maintenance - Update only. The system will retrieve the available POS terminals in LS Central and create the identified LS Recommend POS terminals for each LS Recommend Batch.
  3. If Pending Sync. is selected, it means that there are changes pending to be synchronized to LS Recommend. Click Maintenance - Synchronize only to upload records with changes (based on the Action field, either AddModify or Delete) to LS Recommend.
    • AddModify - A POS terminal which has been newly assigned to a batch.
    • Delete - The POS terminal is no longer a valid LS Recommend POS terminal. It will be removed from LS Recommend upon synchronization.
  4. Alternatively, click Maintenance - Update and Sync. to calculate changes between the current values in setup tables and this table, then upload the changes to LS Recommend. The Update and Sync. process is not possible, if there are changes which are not uploaded yet.

Note: You can set up a Scheduler job to synchronize the LS Recommend POS Terminals automatically. For more information see How to: Schedule Master Data Synchronization.

To compare POS terminals in LS Central and LS Recommend

The LS Recommend POS Terminals Compare page provides you with an overview of all the POS terminals that are maintained in LS Recommend for all the batches. You can use this page to compare these terminals with the list of terminals that are maintained locally in LS Central. This also helps you to easily identify any terminals that may be out-of-sync between LS Central and LS Recommend.

  1. Click the icon, enter LS Recommend POS Terminals, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click Maintenance - Compare (Local vs. Cloud) to open the LS Recommend POS Terminals Compare page. This helps you compare the local records and the records maintained in LS Recommend.
  3. POS terminals present in LS Recommend but not in LS Central are marked as Not Exist (Local). To delete them from LS Recommend , you can use the Delete Not Exist (Local) action. This deletes the terminals from LS Recommend. If a Batch No. filter has been selected, then only terminals belonging to the filtered batch will be deleted from LS Recommend.
  4. Any POS terminals in LS Central which are yet to be synchronized with LS Recommend are marked as Out of Sync. You need to synchronize these terminals to LS Recommend.

Additionally, you can also resynchronize all the POS terminals from LS Central to LS Recommend:

  1. Click the icon, enter LS Recommend POS Terminals, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click Actions - Maintenance - Clear and Sync. to clear all records in the LS Recommend POS Terminal table and upload the changes to LS Recommend. This will delete all the terminals in all the batches from LS Recommend.
  3. Click Maintenance - Update only to recalculate the changes and all POS terminals will be updated with AddModify action in the relevant batches.
  4. Click Maintenance - Synchronize only to upload the records to LS Recommend. This will add all the POS terminals back into LS Recommend.
