How to: Put Symbols and Images on POS Buttons
Instead of text on your POS buttons, you may want to have an image or a symbol.
Images
Images on buttons are set for the menu lines, in Button Properties. The button is then linked with an image that is stored in Retail Images.
For more information about menus and menu lines see POS Menus.
Symbols
Symbols are put on buttons in one of the following ways:
- Using a font that includes icons or symbols. The font must be accessible on the computers you are using for setup and for the POS.
- Create a font line in the POS Style Profile, and link that font line to your font, see Style Profiles for more information.
- Using Font Awesome, version 4.7. Click here for more information on Font Awesome.
To use Font Awesome to put a symbol on a button
- In Font Awesome, find the symbol you want to use and copy the symbol's ID.
For example, if you search for basket , you find a shopping basket symbol with the ID fa-shopping-basket. - Open Button Properties.
- In the General FastTab, the Description field, enter the ID for the basket in this format: <#fa-shopping-basket>
Note: The font ID is the same as you use for standard texts, you can select a font that has bigger font size, different color, and so on. - Click OK to close the POS Button Properties window, and you see the symbol on the button.
Note:
- You can specify where to position the symbol on the button, for example at the top or at the bottom, in the Attributes FastTab, the Caption Alignment field.
- You can also use the Glyphs FastTab to present the symbol as a glyph, for example when you want to have both text and symbol on the button:
