To add commands to the Dining Table Pop-up menus

You need to incorporate the following KDS Coursing commands into the POS menu structure:

KITCHEN_SENDTOKDS AND LOGOFF

There are two commands available that send courses and other items to the kitchen when Coursing is turned on. You link these commands to buttons in the Sales POS menu:

  • KITCHEN_SENDTOKDS
    • The On Send to KDS field in the Hospitality Type Card, the KDS FastTab, controls what is sent to the kitchen when this command is used.
  • LOGOFF - the command that lets you exit the Sales POS panel.
    • The On POS Exit/Posting field in the Hospitality Type Card, the KDS FastTab, controls what happens with kitchen printing when this command is used.

There are three ways of announcing the courses in the kitchen (also changes to course items) and sending other items to the kitchen:

  1. Press an ORDER button (KITCHEN_SENDTOKDS). Press EXIT to send other items.
    • Announces the coursing items in the kitchen and any changes that take place after announcing. 1 Coursing KOT.
    • All other items are sent on EXIT (LOGOFF). 1 Normal KOT.
  2. Press an ORDER button (KITCHEN_SENDTOKDS).
    • Announces coursing items in the kitchen and any changes that take place after announcing. 1 Coursing KOT.
    • It also sends all other items to the kitchen. 1 Normal KOT.
    • Nothing is sent on EXIT (LOGOFF).
  3. Press EXIT (LOGOFF).
    • Announces coursing items in the kitchen and any changes that take place after announcing. 1 Coursing KOT.
    • It also sends all other items to the kitchen. 1 Normal KOT.
    • With this option, any changes and additions made are sent to the kitchen on EXIT.

      Tip:
The staff does not have to remember to press an ORDER button.

  1. Select Coursing and Non-Coursing Items in the On Send to KDS field.
  2. Select Non-Coursing Items in the On POS Exit/Posting field.

If the Hospitality type is configured to Confirm Send to KDS, the Confirm panel opens when coursing and non-coursing item are sent to the kitchen, letting the user check the order and cancel, if there is something not correct. Coursing items and non-coursing items are combined in the panel.

Note:  Items with no menu types and items with menu types that are not linked to menu courses are treated in the same way. They belong to a normal KOT (see Display Stations), while the items with menu course menu types belong to a Coursing KOT.

Note: You cannot send items that belong to a non-coursing menu type with the BOMMENTYPE command, if Coursing is used for the current hospitality type.
